Zero-Year Cards, Part 5

2003 Upper Deck Prospect Premieres #66 John Danks XRC (Rangers)

A John Danks XRC. I'm not even sure what "XRC" means. I'm guessing it's some ultimate form of the everyday rookie card.

Danks was drafted by the Rangers in 2003, remaining in their organization until 2006 when he was dealt for Brandon McCarthy. McCarthy is another one of my current favorites, but it was definitely a better move for the Sox in hindsight.

I'm not happy that it's looking like Danks will be with a different organization by Opening Day 2012, but it's a necessity if the White Sox are truly in a "rebuilding" phase right now. (So why trade Sergio Santos?)

Let's welcome the first "XRC" into the "zero-year club".
