The Frankenset Bracket: The terrific 32 (Pt. 4)

We had some close finishes last week, including one matchup that isn't quite over yet.

#1 (Page 70) -- 1973 Topps #627 Luis Alvarado (24 votes)

def.

#9 (Page 42) -- 1973 Topps #376 Frank Duffy (8 votes)

#13 (Page 17) -- 1981 Fleer #148 Ellis Valentine (17 votes)

def.

#12 (Page 73) -- 1969 Topps #653 Aurelio Rodriguez Bat-Boy UER (16 votes)

#6 (Page 65) -- 1988 Fleer #582 Tim Flannery (15 votes + tie-breaking vote)

def.

#3 (Page 11) -- 1995 Upper Deck Minors #191 Roger Bailey (15 votes)

#2 (Page 53) -- 1971 Topps #476 Dal Maxvill (18 votes)

def.

#7 (Page 29) -- 1993 Stadium Club #257 Oscar Azocar (11 votes)

As expected, the king of this region -- Luis Alvarado -- punched a ticket to the Sweet 16 without much of a fight. I'm disappointed to see the bat boy/Aurelio Rodriguez switcheroo out of the tournament, but then again, Ellis Valentine is no slouch either.

And yes, we have another tie on our hands between Bailey and Flannery. As in the past, I ask the first three people who care to comment on this post to leave their choice between the two cards. The one that receives two of those three tie-breaking votes will move on to the Sweet 16. I'll update this post once we have a winner.

(Edit: Flannery wins!)

In the meantime, it's time to take a look at the fourth and final round of Terrific 32 nominees.
