Four years

"Dime Boxes" is four years old today.

My first post was written on this very night in 2011 after I got a wild impulse to try my hand at something called blogging.

Obviously, year four hasn't gone as smoothly as I'd hoped. I've been mired in a long hiatus from the blog for the first time, and, though it hurts a little to say this, I haven't missed blogging as much as I thought I would. But I think that's more a product of simply not having time to miss the blog.

I still read and comment on other blogs when I can, and that's every bit as much of a thrill as it was four years ago. I've been receiving a good amount of PWEs/packages during my vacation, and I've done my best to return the favor in ample time. (I still have yet to return fire on a few, which I'm planning on doing soon.)

So, yes, in terms of the blog, year four didn't go as well as I'd hoped. But I'm still collecting at a furious pace. (Although the sorting/organizing has, of course, taken a hit, which means a whole lot of cards stacked up on my living room table.)

This is my finals week at school, which means that some extra time should be opening up in the next month or so during my winter break. I have the contents of a card show, two Just Commons orders, and many trades from both before and during my hiatus to post about, so I'm hoping to return to at least a somewhat consistent blogging schedule in the near future.

Until then, I'd like to thank everyone who has read and supported this crazy little blog during its existence. "Dime Boxes" probably wouldn't be here celebrating a four-year anniversary without you.

Here's hoping that year five of "Dime Boxes" goes a little better than year four did.
