I can't stay mad at you

Another guy busted using a fake identity.

Fausto Carmona was arrested Thursday while trying to apply for a visa. It's been revealed that his real name is Roberto Hernandez Heredia.

He's actually 31 years old, three years older than the Indians believed him to be.

"Carmona" joins "Leo Nunez" on the list of big-leaguers found using fake names. Nunez's real name is actually Juan Carlos Oviedo. It's not looking promising for either of those guys to be available for the start of the 2012 season.

But while I'm disappointed at this story, I still love Carmona's (or Heredia's) 2008 Topps Opening Day card.

Seriously, it's one of the best cards produced in the last five years. We haven't seen hair like that since the '70s.

I hope this is the last "false identity" story I have to hear for a while. A long while.

But I hope I continue to see great cards like this one in the coming years, no matter what name is on the front of them.

Sometimes I think Starlin Castro's going to end up with that look (if he's not careful). A lot of people don't like that set but I'm partial to the fire engine red myself. I like them.

I have a 2010 Topps auto of Fausto Carmona. Does that now count as evidence in a forgery case or do I get to keep it? hehe
