#100

I am very pleased to say that this is my 100th post on "Dime Boxes"!

Much thanks to all my readers thus far, hope you've all enjoyed the first hundred posts! Hopefully the next hundred are even better!

I've surprised myself with the torrid frequency of my posts thus far. I've got 100 in a little over a month. Some of the reason for that is because I don't have much else to do during the day during my winter vacation.

But it's mainly because I've become addicted to blogging. It's been as much fun as I could've imagined!

Sadly, my winter break ends Tuesday. I should be able to get at least one post in per school day, and I'll do my best to get two posts in at least once or twice during the week.

To honor my 100th post, I thought I'd show of a few of my favorite cards that are serial numbered to 100.

Enjoy and thanks for reading!

2005 Artifacts Rainbow Blue #165 Enos Slaughter LGD /100

Enos "Country" Slaughter is one of my favorite players from the "baby boom" era.

Not to mention he has one of the best "baseball names" in history.

2005 Prime Cuts "MLB Icons" #MLB-6 Bobby Doerr /100

This is one of the coolest inserts in my HOF collection. "Prime Cuts" is a very high-end set, but if this card is any indication, it looks like it might've actually been worth the money.

2003 Diamond Kings Gold Foil #56 John Olerud /100

John Olerud is one of my favorite recent ballplayers (be on the lookout for him in a future "Glory of Their Time" post).

It's easy to get lost with all the parallels that Diamond Kings issued in their sets. You can't tell one from the other a lot of the time.

But this one is great. The leather-ish border with the fantastic portrait of Olerud makes it a beauty.

2005 Absolute Memorabilia "Tools of the Trade Black" #TT-176 Roger Maris /100

These "Tools of the Trade" inserts are among my favorites in recent history.

Plus, you don't often see cards of Maris in his Kansas City A's days.

2004 Donruss Elite "Passing the Torch" #PT-1 Whitey Ford /100

This is one of the first inserts I can remember trading for after I got back into baseball cards in 2006.

I would've preferred the name plate be towards the bottom of the card rather than running right through the shot of Whitey Ford, but the rest of the card is awesome enough that I can ignore it.

2003 Studio "Studio Stars Gold" #SS-24 Junior Spivey /100

I love these transparent cards, even though they might be a bit gimmicky.

I applaud Donruss for trying something different with these cards. I'm glad one of the insert subjects was Junior Spivey, another of my favorite recent players.

There's #100.

I'm already looking forward to my next hundred posts!
