Frankenset Page #59 WINNER -- 1995 Score #525 Kent Mercker (6 votes + tie-breaking vote)
We've got ourselves another tie!
Last week's page was a clustered affair: though six votes isn't usually enough to sniff a victory, a clustered trip to the polls meant that both Ryan Anderson and Kent Mercker wound up tied at the top with just six slim tallies a piece. As usual, I ask the first five people who care to comment on this post to leave their choice between Anderson and Mercker. The first to receive three tie-breaking votes will win the page.
I'll update this post once we have a champion.
EDIT: Mercker wins!
In the meantime, it's a bittersweet moment here today, for this week will feature the last of the 74 pages of this second Dime Box Frankenset.
While I'm looking forward to the big frankenset bracket coming up, I have to say I'll miss posting these pages every week. Once again, I thank all of you who've taken the time to vote with each passing group: your participation is what makes this series so much fun for me. And I didn't mean to do it this way, but by some weird coincidence the close of the frankenset matched up nicely to the end of the calendar year: looks like 2020 will be the Year of the Frankenset Bracket.
First, though, here it is, the final page: last, but not least, is Page 16 (#s 136-144) of the binder -- let's meet the nominees.
1993 Donruss #136 Doug Strange
I find it oddly comforting when such moments of futility are documented on baseball cards.
2011 Topps Update #US137 Willie Bloomquist
Turning two at Wrigley.
2013 Topps #138 Michael Morse
Hero for a day.
2014 Stadium Club #139 Koji Uehara
["We Are the Champions" plays]
1998 Topps #140 Jay Bell
Just tap it in.
1983 Fleer #141 Rick Mahler

1976 Topps #143 Jerry Grote

2016 Stadium Club #144 Kole Calhoun
A rare sighting of the innards of a baseball stadium.
That just about does it: let's decide the last of our 74 frankenset champions. The polls are now on the sidebar.
Happy voting!

Mondesi! Merry Christmas Nick!
I always enjoy voting! Merry Christmas!
So many great choices, but I'd get kicked out of Red Sox Nation if I didn't vote for Koji!
Wow this week is tough. Those Stadium Club photos are great. My heart says Rick Mahler but I'll go with Mondesi and that sweet photo.
I'll go with the 1983 Rick Mahler this week.
