The (Second) Dime Box Frankenset, Page 50: Numbers 442-450

Frankenset Page #53 WINNER -- 1991 Score #475 Andy Van Slyke (10 votes)

Last week was one of those pages where I honestly had no idea which card would win.

In the end, Andy Van Slyke took the honors, pacing the field with 10 of the 35 total tallies for the win. 'Twas a close race however, as four of the nine cards received at least five votes (including six for the media-tangled '94 Topps Dave Hollins, probably my personal favorite card of the lot).

So much congrats to Andy Van Slyke for becoming our first frankenset champion of 2019.

And as 2018 rolls into 2019 in the blogging world, here tonight is the first frankenset page of the new year.

The Random Number Generator decreed that Page 50 (#s 442-450) would do the honors, so let's take a look at who we'll be voting on this week.

1995 Collector's Choice #442 Curt Leskanic

People really can name their kids anything these days.

2017 Topps #443 Dee Gordon

A rare beauty from last year's underwhelming Flagship design.

2015 Topps #444 Lonnie Chisenhall

Lonnie Chisenhall, probably one of the more pedestrian ballplayer with a three-homer game to his credit.

1971 Topps #445 Art Shamsky

Chin music on a classic from '71 Topps.

2007 Upper Deck #446 Aaron Miles

World Series double dip!

1994 Pinnacle #447 Mark Lemke

Turning two at Shea.

1994 Stadium Club #448 Erik Pappas

Behold, the seat-gripping action of...a dude eating his lunch.

2015 Topps #449 Joe Panik

This Web Gem brought to you by Chevrolet.

1994 Stadium Club #450 Darren Daulton

RIP, Dutch.

That's it for 2019's first frankenset page. The polls are now on the sidebar.

Happy voting!

  3. I went with vintage chin music... but it was not an easy choice. The Daulton and Panik to Crawford were in it too.

  4. It's a coin flip between Leskanic and Pappas for me.

  5. The Shamsky is great, but I voted in memory of Daulton.

  6. Uh, is that Leskanic's social security number?

  7. I voted for Leskanic but I normally would vote for Pappas. The Shamsky is pretty nice too.
