Please Mr. Postman (A trade post) -- Team-o-rama

I haven't done one of these in a while.

Trading has slowed down a bit for me in the last few weeks, but I'm glad that it seems to be picking up again.

I received not one, but two trade packages in the mail today, both of which contained team lots.

Normally, I don't trade for team lots as there aren't any specific teams I really collect, but I figured what the heck.

The first was a Cubs lot from blog reader Tim. I sent him a stack of Indians a couple weeks ago. I actually forgot that he was going to be sending me some Cubs in return until I saw a gigantic mailer in the mailbox upon arriving home from school today.

I opened up the package, and out spilled about a hundred or so Chicago Cubs cards. The hometown Cubs are, without question, my favorite baseball team.

The cards were a blast to go through. It had everything from the 1980's to the present.

I love any Randall Simon cards.

Ones of him in a Cubs uniform are a huge plus.

I know I say it about a lot of sets, but 2003 Topps is an underrated base set, in my opinion.

The blue borders make the Cubs cards look especially cool.

I've already got that Aramis Ramirez card, but I wanted to show it off anyways. (My scanner doesn't like Chrome cards.)

I wish Ramirez the best of luck in Milwaukee this season.

A couple great new cards for the player collections.

Manny Trillo and Gary Matthews are two of my favorite Cubs players from the 1980's.

I love listening to Matthews announce whenever MLB Network picks up a Phillies game. He's one of the best players-turned-announcers that I can think of.

This was probably the most interesting card in the package.

An '87 Topps Jamie Moyer rookie card. He's been around for so long that I sometimes think his rookie card is from the tobacco era.

He made his major league debut six years before I was born, and he's still trying to make a comeback at age 49 for the Rockies this year.

That's amazing.

The second package I received today came from Jaybarkerfan over at "Jaybarkerfan's Junk".

He was gracious to send me a nice lot of Angels cards after I requested them as part of his team giveaway.

The Angels are my favorite non-Chicago baseball team. Some of my earliest baseball memories are from their 2002 championship season.

I've been a fan ever since that magical year.

I seem to find cards from the Pacific Nolan Ryan set in almost every dime box I look through. That's fine with me, though. I love getting cards of "The Ryan Express".

Cecil Fielder really got heavy in his later years. He's pretty huge in all my Angels cards of his.

This one will fit perfectly into my brand-new "cool photo" collection. (I haven't been able to come up with a creative name for these neat cards yet, obviously.)

Salmon's 1993 Upper Deck card is one of the kings of that collection of mine so far.

Today was one of the best maildays I've had in a while. Hopefully, the trades I've made so far are just scratching the surface of all the good stuff that's out there in the blogosphere.
