It's just not right

I've got nothing against the Royals franchise, but Harmon Killebrew just doesn't look right in those powder-blue uniforms.

I'm sure Killebrew himself wasn't too fond of his 1975 season as a Royal either, as he hit just .199 in 106 games that year.

I like to think that I've got a nice collection of guys in unfamiliar uniforms. It's one of the focal points of my entire collection as a whole. (I've been thinking of devoting another section of the blog to these types of cards, but I think I've already got enough theme posts as is right now.)

It's tough to pick my favorite unfamiliar uniform-themed card (or as I like to call it, my "short term stops" collection). Any of my four cards of Pete Rose as an Expo are near the top of the list. I can't believe that I actually have three cards of Mike Piazza as a Marlin. Any one of those could very well be my favorite "short term stops" card. (He only played in five games for the Marlins.)

However, if I had to pick one, I think it would have to be this 1976 SSPC card of the late Harmon Killebrew.

For one, Killebrew is one of my favorites from the '60s and '70s. He's got one of the best "baseball names" in history and was one of the most feared sluggers of his time.

The main reason I like it so much is because I'm pretty sure this is the only card ever produced of him in a Royals uniform. I've never seen another one.

If you're a fan of these types of cards, this one is a must. You'll love it.
