I can speak from experience that pinstripes are anathema to someone trying to digitally alter a uniform. :-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5342310663064800554.post-70415453093965106922015-01-21T21:50:30.110-06:002015-01-21T21:50:30.110-06:00I used to buy Opening Day because it was cheap &am...I used to buy Opening Day because it was cheap & I thought the inserts were fun. I quit when I finally realized I could be doing better things with those dollars. (I'm waiting on a JustCommons purchase to finally finish my mascots insert set from 2011.)

I do think Opening Day was an improvement on the Topps base set in 2007, but I approve of all the years Topps made an effort to make the cards look different.Paul Hadsallhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16886355050567035004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5342310663064800554.post-76454675903609737362015-01-21T20:55:29.089-06:002015-01-21T20:55:29.089-06:00I love the 2008 Opening Day set also. While I have to agree on the red borders, looking at the squinting Fausto gives me a slight headache. acrackedbathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05056658025780679689noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5342310663064800554.post-5178015321893453632015-01-21T20:09:04.738-06:002015-01-21T20:09:04.738-06:00There is a complete lack of foil. How great are those foil-less releases the past few years over the flagship offerings???

I agree - different images on Opening Day and Topps would have a winner.JediJeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10261262040532716901noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5342310663064800554.post-2506942967493118662015-01-21T18:18:40.977-06:002015-01-21T18:18:40.977-06:00That's Fausto Carmona? I thought that was Roberto Hernandez... ;).

When I first got into the hobby in 2011 I thought Opening Day was just one of the many base parallels. Four years later I still think that it is, but realize it's relatively cheaper.

I know it's been said over a trillion times already but if Opening Day offered different pictures from the flagship set (something like the pictures SEGA used to use for SEGA card gen cards) I have a feeling it'd be a lot better. At least it's got some decent inserts from time to time.Zippy Zappyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06695389359056056119noreply@blogger.com
