Last week's frankenset voting wasn't as close as I thought it'd be.
Win -- 1991 Studio #216 Steve Lake (11 votes)
Place (tie) -- 1991 Score #209 Doug Dascenzo, 2007 Bowman Heritage #210 Joe Smith (4 votes each)
Show -- 1993 SP #214 Bip Roberts (3 votes)
Steve Lake and his little birdie took home the crown without much of a challenge. It was a well-deserved win, although I myself voted for outfielder-turned-pitcher Doug Dascenzo. I'm just that obsessed with position players on the mound, I guess.
Here's a look at this week's frankenset nominees.
The first two pages I've shown since this new format have been blowouts.
Will this one be the first to go neck-and-neck right down to the wire?
That's up to you. As always, feel free to leave a comment with your choice, but be sure to at least take your pick on the poll on the sidebar.
Let's meet the nominees.
1994 Upper Deck Minors #217 Oscar Munoz
Pitcher at the plate, complete with a ball wedged inside the mask of the poor catcher behind Mr. Munoz.
1994 Stadium Club #218 Kirt Manwaring
A play at the plate and multiple-exposure shot combine to form the a rare mini-collection combo card.
1994 Collector's Choice #219 Jose Offerman
Probably the most violent double dip I own.
2002 Fleer #220 Ramon E. Martinez
A much more tame double play shot.
1994 Collector's Choice #221 Greg Olson
A tractor on a baseball card.
Enough said.
1995 Collector's Choice #222 Tom Candiotti
Pitcher at the plate!
2014 Topps #223 Joaquin Benoit
Throwback!
2014 Topps #224 Michael Saunders
Our second straight nominee from 2014 Topps, and one of the better dugout shots ever printed.
2013 Sega Card-Gen #225 David DeJesus
Throwbacks, gaming oddballs, and The Land of the Rising Sun on one glorious baseball card.
What more do you need?
This week's nominees look to be a well-rounded bunch.
The poll is now up on the sidebar.
Happy voting!
My vote is the Offerman card. Hard to wrap my head around how that could happen.
ReplyDeleteHas to be the Manwaring card. The triple exposure shot with an actual play at the plate is a fabulous photo in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteNice page.
